Shellers is a happy and playful puppy who arrived at the Toronto Humane Society with her five siblings. During her intake exam, we quickly noticed unusual swelling on the side of her head. After further examinations, it was determined that she had hydrocephalus, a disorder caused by fluid buildup in the cavities of her brain. Fortunately, her symptoms were mild.
Thanks to your support, Shellers was placed in a caring foster home where her condition is closely monitored. She has been receiving the necessary treatment, and her neurological condition has remained stable. Despite her medical challenges, she couldn’t be happier, enjoying her puppy life in the foster home while waiting to be adopted into her forever home.
Be a Humane Champion monthly donor and change lives. Together we can continue to nurture the human-animal bond by directly supporting shelter care, training, education, and vet services. Your generosity means animals will live the life they were meant to live.
