We adopted Levi in February 2022, and we are now celebrating our first full year with him as part of our family! Levi took some time to settle into our downtown home and neighborhood, and as first-time dog owners, it took us some time to learn what he was telling us with his body language.
Levi started out with some significant resource guarding and reactivity. With training, Levi has made great improvements in his ability to walk politely on leash, sharing his toys, and greeting our neighbors in a friendly manner. Over time, Levi learned to trust us and we learned to trust him. We could not be more proud of his calm manners now when we’re outside walking, running, or hiking.
We had a lot to learn in order to make Levi comfortable in our home, and it was well worth the investment of time and energy.
Levi is a constant source of love. Bringing a dog into our home was a leap of faith for us, and it could not have been a better choice. Adopting has been among the best things we did as a family and we are so grateful that he is part of our lives.
