When Mya came to Toronto Humane Society, she was 9 years old with a recent history of inappropriate urination and defecation (she would do her business inside).
During her intake exam, it was noted that she was overweight, she had a sensitive trachea that caused a small cough, and her breathing was a little noisy. As Mya is a senior dog, full bloodwork and urinalysis tests were done to determine if there were medical reasons for her inappropriate urination and defecation. Happily, her bloodwork and urinalysis all came back within normal levels.
Our behaviour department worked with Mya’s foster family to get Mya back to doing her business outside and to help her lose weight.
Mya has now been adopted.
