If your cat requires vaccines please read below, if you are unsure you should contact your veterinarian.
For all surgical procedures we strongly recommend that your cat is up to date on vaccinations for both FVRCP and Rabies. This requires your cat to have been vaccinated within the last 3 years (depending on the vaccine(s) used). If your pet is already up to date on vaccines we require that you bring proof of vaccinations (a signed vaccination certificate) at the time of admittance.
If your cat is not up to date on vaccines you have three options:
  1. Schedule an appointment with your local veterinarian at least 2 weeks before the procedure. If these are first time vaccines or this is a first/second booster in the kitten vaccination series we recommend that the surgery be scheduled 6-8 weeks post vaccination so that any required boosters can be given before the surgery.
  2. Request we schedule a vaccination appointment during one of our vaccination clinics. The vaccines should be administered at least 2 weeks prior to the surgery date. If these are first time vaccines or this is a first/second booster in the kitten vaccination series we recommend that the surgery be scheduled 6-8 weeks post vaccination so that any required boosters can be given before the surgery.
  3. Bring your animal in unvaccinated. This is not the ideal option. Your animal will not be protected against the diseases which are present in the vaccines, and in the unlikely event that a vaccine reaction occurs during the anesthetic, this can delay identification and treatment. If you choose to bring your animal in without up to date vaccines we will require you to sign a waiver acknowledging you are aware of the risks associated. You will also be required to have your pet vaccinated at the time of surgery at your own expense of $45.
