Ruben

Ruben

March 26, 2020

(Formerly Harry Potter) Ruben was one of the cats brought in with the New Jersey group in February of last year. He is thriving, happy and is loved. We couldn’t ask for a more kind, quirky and beautiful cat. While the year has had a couple ups and downs, including what we think is a diagnosis of FLUTD, the good outweighed the bad and the relationship we have with him has never been better. His vet consistently says what a cool guy he is and how easy his appointments are.

Rueben is extremely high energy and giving him the exercise and play time he requires helps us manage his FLUTD better. He is super intelligent and often surprises us with how smart he is. His brain is constantly thinking and his body can catch a mouse mid air like nobodies business. Brains and braun! His favourite toys are fishing rods with mice and jingle bell balls. He loves the meat tube treats and still hasn’t learned how to sleep without taking up 2-3 feet of space. He can run through tunnels with dynamic agility and loves when you kiss his cheeks when you get home after work. It’s very European of him.

While he’s still not a big talker, he can purr so loudly. And he does so often. Thank you again for introducing us to him. We are so glad to have been provided the opportunity to do so.

Robina

Robina

I am so pleased to tell you that Robina is loving her new home and we are absolutely loving Robina. Her car ride home was calm and flawless. She entered into her new home, took a sniff around and jumped up onto my bed without any prompting and went to sleep.

She is eating well and loves to be snuggled in a light weight cozy sheet. After her first night where she slept at the bottom of my bed, she now snuggles in next to me while she sleeps. In the morning, she wakes up with her tail wagging and her paws on my chest and gives lots of kisses.

We have been on many walks around town, down to the pier and on a beautiful country walking trail. She has a new harness and walks well with it. She is as happy as we are. We keep saying this is the best dog we’ve ever had….and all my dogs have been great. She is GREAT!!! Thank you Toronto Humane Society for trusting me with Robina and the great job you do in vetting potential pet owners. Robina is awesome!

Stevie

Stevie

I adopted Rasmus, whose name is now Cat Stevens (nickname Stevie). The first few days he was curious, but a little bit cautious, and now he is very comfortable exploring around the house and finding his favourite spots to sit. He likes looking out the window and sitting on the heating vents. Stevie loves to curl up next to you or on your lap on the couch, and will often flop over on the floor and roll around showing his belly. He loves getting head scratches and long, firm pats down his back.

Mealtime might be his favourite time of day, and he will yell at you while you prepare his breakfast (we are working on training to calm him down a little). Stevie loves his scratching posts and scratching board, and in the evening he gets the zoomies and runs around and is ready to play. He lets you know he wants to play by standing on the stairs, looking at you, then chirping and running upstairs. It’s very cute! He is extremely curious, wanting to crawl into every cupboard or drawer you open to look inside.
