Raven

Raven

February 29, 2020

It’s been about 5 months since we adopted Raven. Before we fostered her, my family and I were dog people, but we decided to give the world of cats a try and so we chose to foster Raven. She’s honestly the most loving cat ever and to our luck she behaves like a dog most of the time. Everyone that enters the house she must see and receive pets from her. She is the best during our travels and so far she has come with us from Toronto to Orlando, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia and back to Toronto in the car with us. Raven loves Friday nights since they are movie nights and by 8pm she takes her place on the carpet facing the TV. She loves to be around people and other animals. She is really curious so we are starting leash training soon. Thank you for helping animals the way you do.

Buddy

Buddy

February 21, 2020

I wanted to write to the you, the Toronto Humane Society, to thank you. I didn’t know walking into the Humane Society July 2006 would change my life forever! I thought I was walking into to save a life but actually, Buddy saved mine. He was with me through all my ups and downs. We had 15 wonderful years together and I hope he was happy with the life I was able to provide for him. I believe Buddy was my guardian angel and we were meant to meet the day I walked through those doors.

My baby Buddy peacefully passed away in my arms January 29, 2020 after 15 amazing, definitely not long enough years. It’s been extremely difficult to cope with his loss, he was my everything. I am grateful and blessed that he chose me to be his mommy that day and I am thankful to the Humane Society for allowing me the privilege and honour to adopt the most amazing and wonderful dog, my best friend, Buddy.

Lucky

Lucky

February 13, 2020

We adopted Lucky Prince Stephano (formerly Mr. Stephano), a Border Collie, at your facility on October 27, 2013 as a senior dog, who was brought to the THS from Woodstock. Lucky had an incredibly eventful, happy, fun, comfortable, yet health challenged filled life, but it was astonishing how resilient and life-loving Lucky was while fighting, earning the nickname of a “Miracle Dog” at our doctor-veterinarian’s practice. Lucky lived six happy years with us in addition to his already deep senior years, and it is with great sadness that he passed away naturally, at home, in our loving arms on November 7, 2019.

Lucky had an extraordinary, stellar life force that allowed him to champion every challenge, no matter how severe or potentially deadly it was, and rise with dignity, fighting for every breath, every step, every hour. He was faithfully by my side for years while I was writing my PhD dissertation, but regretfully, he did not make it to the doctoral defense, having passed away three weeks before my big day.

The lantern of Lucky’s heart will forever illuminate our lives, and we are so grateful for all the incredible years of joy and love he gave us.

Carousel

Carousel

Proudly, I successfully adopted Carousel in the fall of 2019 after fostering her. Carousel is an incredible and phenomenal cat and we are more than happy and thrilled to have her with us at our home for the duration of her natural life. Initially, she was transferred from another shelter as a special needs feline.

We love, adore and cherish Carousel and look forward to seeing her continue to be healthy and happy. She has become a sensation among our neighbours and their children too as they give her a pat and say hello when they see her. I encourage anybody to Foster and/or Adopt from The Toronto Humane Society. You never know until you try. I cannot tell you how an animal makes an incredible and positive difference. Thank you Carousel and The Toronto Humane Society.
