Ginny

Ginny

January 18, 2019

This little girl entered our life when she was about 2 months old. She was brought to the humane society and was waiting for her forever home along with 2 brothers. At first, when I looked in the cage I saw only her two brothers, then out of her box she popped her little face out and immediately I knew we had to make her a part of our family. She was such a little sweetheart. We brought her home and soon as I put her down on the floor, it was like she had lived here from her very first breath. She adapted very well, and is doing great. Her society name was Kit, but she is now known as Ginny. We love her to bits!

On Dec. 23, 2018 We adopted a cat, known to you as Artichoke, to us she is Cleo.

She settled right in, she’s friendly, she’s playful, and an absolute delight in our household!

Thank you THS for brightening our home with such a healthy and happy fluffy friend.

Lennox

Lennox

Well, it has been two months since I adopted Slick Rick (Lennox now). He had to have 18 teeth removed so I brought him home on medication. He grooms himself constantly now. I was worried he could not even meow but he is the biggest talker now. Stories every day!

He hid for a few days, then, took over my condo. He loves playing (almost demands it). Loves his new food and downtown condo living, he wonders when I am moving out in fact. Such a great little friend with an amazing personality!

Thank you Toronto Humane Society, you do such a wonderful job! Acts of kindness!

Elk and Bear

Elk and Bear

January 13, 2019

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary with our girls.

Elk our little blondie has come a long way, she’s gaining her confidence; she walks around the house (at first she would only leave her corner when she had to go out to potty). Now she lays on the couch and comes when called (she loves her liver treats) but always makes sure she has an escape. If she get nervous or uncomfortable she will go into her room. At bedtime she loves to stretch out and get her belly rubs (it’s only a queen, so it’s very tight for us humans), and she hates car rides!!

Bear our little brindle loves her car rides but doesn’t like to be without her sister too long. She’s a lot more confident than Elk and you can see all she wants is to belong. She too loves her liver treats and at bedtime she loves to squeeze in nice and tight in between us and just purrs when she’s getting her rubbings.

When we were originally told that we probably would never be able to touch these dogs, we figured its fine as long as they are happy, safe and at peace but we are glad they were wrong. These girls love to spend time with us, and love their lovings; of course only on their terms.

We still have a long way to go and they will always have their issues but they definitely found their forever home!

We’d like to thank everyone at the THS for helping animals and giving them a safe place.

Mimi

Mimi

January 07, 2019

We wanted to send an update about our little Mimi, the cat formerly known as Iralma. We adopted Mimi on December 7th, just one month ago.

She is a wonderful addition to our family, welcoming us home with friendly meows and jumping onto our laps for cuddles. We are all quickly becoming best friends, and couldn’t be happier.

Thank you for all of your help as we become new cat parents!

Amy

Amy

January 03, 2019

Amy (formally Olaf) is living happily & affectionately with her husbun, Rufus! We’ve adopted Amy in 2016, when Rufus visited the THS for a matchmaking date. Rufus is also a rescue since 2014 from the Milton Humane Society.

Despite having been rescued from people who planned to eat him, he has always been a big and outgoing love bug. Amy is slow to approach new people but once she’s familiar, she’s easily excited and loves affection and treats. They’re pretty much inseparable! Amy doesn’t like the slippery hardwood floor so they hang out together on the rug or any close by fabric-covered areas. They are litter-trained and have free roam of the condo!

Thank you very much for saving Amy so that she has a wonderful place in our lives & heart! Your staff are super knowledgeable and care very much about the lovely rabbits and other pets you have at the humane society. I am deeply appreciative of having the opportunity to support such a wonderful organization, and will always be continuing to do so. smile
