Lucy

Lucy

November 28, 2018

Our dear little Lucy has been with us for almost two weeks and we have all fallen in love. She is playful and affectionate and entertains us with her antics. Lucy has a great purr!

She has adjusted very well to her new home and is friendly and unperturbed when visitors come. We really feel lucky to have her.

Thanks to the foster family who gave her such a great start!

Tau-iû

Tau-iû

November 24, 2018

My partner and I adopted Mocca a few months ago, he now has a new name Tau-iû(means soy sauce in Taiwanese). He seems to be very responsive for his new name.

Tau-iû is really relax and talks a lot. He is very food motivated, likes the toys we bought him, also warm baths. He sleeps “on”our heads and tends to wake us up in the morning by kissing and biting our faces.

With a few months, Tau-iû has become the professional cat patrol in the house. For instance, he enters ever rooms to check up on something, also, he attacks the shoelace snakes to protect us…instead of kneading our bellies, he decides to knead on the armpits just to make sure our body is in good condition by checking up our acupoints. We feel very very happy and lucky that we met Tau-iû. Mocca is in good hands, and we love him so much, he is very healthy and extremely chill, and he has found his forever home!

Thank to Toronto humane society for being helpful for both the cat and us. With Tau-iû, our life is just complete!

Bowie

Bowie

November 18, 2018

Just wanted to give you a long overdue update on Bowie (aka Caramilk). She was adopted her from the Paws in the Park event in July. We’d been following the husky-mix puppies for sometimes and were so excited when they were finally up for adoption (got there at 8am)! It was a tough choice between Bowie and her 3 adorable sisters that Saturday morning but we haven’t regretted a thing.

Bowie is the sweetest, most adorable well-behaved pupper in the world. We are loving every day with her. She loves long walks through High Park, playing with her friends at the dog park, chewing ice or a bone with some PB in it and playing her with puppy BFF at our dog-friendly office, Newton. Bowie totally aced her puppy training course and everyone constantly comments on how well-behaved and chill she is, especially for a puppy. We couldn’t agree more.

As you may or may not remember, we also adopted the sweetest cat in the world from THS in the Spring named Bohemian. While he is great with other cats, we quickly learned he does not care for dogs. It’s definitely been an adjustment for him but he’s slowly coming around to Bowie. We are constantly trying to make sure he has as much attention as ever and knows he is still very loved and in charge. Bo(hemnian) is such a chatty little angel and we look forward to moving to a larger house up north where they have more space to share.

Anyways, just wanted to share our story and may thanks. THS does so much amazing work and we are so happy to support them. Bowie has grown so much (just over 5 months now)! You can also follow her on Instagram at @bowiethehuskymixpup.

Thanks for all that you do Toronto Humane Society, these animals are so lucky to have such a great organization. Take care.

Bella

Bella

November 16, 2018

We just wanted to share a picture of our lovely baby Bella (formerly Belladonna). We adopted her in May 2016 and she quickly became the love of our life.

This year, we got our own house after living in a condo and Bella is pretty stoked to have a house to call her own! She loves her new neighbours and has made lots of doggy friends. We are so lucky to have her. She has the absolute best personality. Even those who are nervous of Bully Breeds quickly warm up to her as she has a big smile and wagging tail.

Thank you again for helping us find the dog of our dreams. Bella loves to sleep in on Sunday mornings or go on trail runs through the snow. There is nothing we can’t do with her.

If anyone is unsure about adopting a dog like her, don’t be. They are the gentlest, most easy going dogs around!

Cookie was adopted by someone else and returned to the Toronto Humane Society When I adopted her on March 1, 2006 she was estimated to be about 5 months old, she is now happy and thriving and 14 years old now. Yes she does pose for photos . . . when SHE feels like it!

Coco

Coco

November 02, 2018

Here’s an update on Clyde, who’s new name is Coco!

After 3 months, he’s still very excited and hyper and always down for a trip to the forest. He’s very good with the family and we’ve all come to love him dearly. His adopted brother Chaco even started cleaning Coco’s ears and Wally the cat rubs up against Coco when he comes inside.

Although Coco is 100MPH, his demeanour is very docile and we even see some calmness in him.

Bluebell

Bluebell

November 02, 2018

Last Thursday, my fiancé and I lost my best friend, Bluebell. We adopted him as a special needs cat in 2014 from THS when he was 8.

This little guy jumped right into my fiancé‘s lap when we first opened the cage at THS, and seemed desperate for us to take him home. He needed a lump removed, and all of his teeth, and we had to foster him at first. He had numerous issues, but he always had a playful and loving attitude. He loved his wand and play-wrestling with my hand, we gave him shrimps for snacks. At first, we were told he might have to be put down, but after a couple of years he was a vibrant, friendly, healthy cat.

I took a job in New York in 2016, and my fiancé moved to her parents’ to finish school. We decided the best thing for Bluebell was for him to move with me, so he took his only plane flight!

Since then, he has been my whole world. Every morning he would wake me up, we would cuddle before I left for work; he’d be at the door waiting for me to pick him up, and he’d be first to bed, waiting for me to hold him.
Thank you THS for providing me with the best friend I’ve ever had. As much as I hurt now, it is because he gave us something to look forward to every day, and loved us (and us him) with every moment.

He was perfect, and changed my life forever.

Alfie and Peepers

Alfie and Peepers

November 01, 2018

We wanted to write and say thank you. Two weeks ago we lost our beloved little Alfie (formerly Furby before we adopted him in August 2016). This comes just 3 months after we lost our other hamster Peeper (she was adopted a week after Alfie the grey).

We wanted to say thank you for not giving up on the smallest of pets that so many just discard. Our two littles brought us so much joy in the time we had with them.

They both loved their carrots, chicken and cuddle time outside of their enclosures. I’ve had many hamsters in our lives but these two really stand out. They just wanted love and to be loved and they were.

We’ll miss them, but are also looking forward to the day we can rescue another in their memory.

Leo and Pumpkin

Leo and Pumpkin

November 01, 2018

We are happy to report that Leo (formerly Irwin) and Pumpkin (formerly Owen), adopted on Oct 13 are settling in nicely into their new digs.

We’d like to thank the Toronto Humane Society Staff for the meet and greet with them! They were their advocate and we were convinced that it would be a good match. Leo and Pumpkin are sweet, funny cats.
