Elsa

Elsa

February 14, 2017

I just wanted to share my #THSHappyTail with this beautiful dog! My fiancĂ© and I adopted her last year, named Elsa. This darling has been such a blessing in our lives and we absolutely love her! She is a nervous dog, but she has become a playful girl with some human and animal friends that she has met. She’s great on leash and politely sniffs other dogs on her walks. She is doing great at her forever home!

Penny

I adopted Penny (formerly Alisha) on January 6th, a day after she was brought from California with a large group. The day before, I had decided that I was going to hold off on adopting after a bad experience with an adoption falling through with another agency. My heart couldn’t take it, and I didn’t want to put Leonard through it. St the end of the day on January 5th, I happened to look on THS’s website and saw that some Chi’s had been posted as just arrived (Alisha’s posting was one of them….. I still have it printed off).

I decided it wouldn’t hurt to take a look and as I didn’t work the next day, my mum and I made the trip out from Oshawa. After a long wait (you guys were crazy busy!!) I met Penny and had a connection straight away. We let her meet Leonard and the two of them were polite and seemed to like each other. When we arrived home, Penny came out of her shell and her and Leonard connected like two peas in a pod. Just over a month in, and you would think the two of them were born together. They jut love each other and do everything together. She has fit in my little family so well and I have my “Big Bang” pups. My parents and I feel she is a “reincarnation” of our old family pup who was put to sleep a few months before she was born. The same personality and mannerisms! Sometimes things are meant to be.

I’m so happy to be her furever home. Leonard (black pomchi) and Penny (my blond California Chi girl) are my amazing rescue babies.

Sunshine

Wishing the Toronto Humane Society family a very Happy Valentines and a very happy adopt-a-versary to our little kitty Sunshine!!! It was one year ago that my boyfriend Rob and I adopted Sunshine from the Toronto Humane Society, and since that very day, she has filled our lives with love and light, sweet kitty puuuurs, mews and snuggles delight!!!

Sunshine is a white short hair kitty with tabby accents and she is now 6 years old and such a happy healthy girl! She is such a loving kitty and a total softy, lol, she loves to sit up on our laps and has such a soft, sweet kitten-like mew, and is just such a sweetheart! Sunshine’s personality truly reflects her given name-that we just had to keep for her, naturally! Sunshine is truly our little Cupid kitty as while we found her (or should I say she is the one who truly found us) in this February month of love, she also has a beautiful distinct marking of an adorable heart shape on her! (Included a pic below:) Sunshine is our wonderful little Valentine girl and has fit in absolutely puuuurfectly in our lives!!! Thank you so much to the Toronto Humane Society for our little ray of Sunshine!!! We are so happy to been able to give her a loving fur-ever home!!!

With all our love and light, Julia Stephenson and Robert Monroe

DJ

February 09, 2017

The Jaremus family adopted DJ when he was about 6 months old. It was love at first sight! He was calmly sitting in his cage, woke up and lifted out a paw to greet us. We knew then that he was meant to come home with us. After filling out the forms, answering questions in an interview, the THS employee said “Would you like to meet DJ?” It has been almost 7 years now that DJ is enjoying his home with us and occasionally keeping an eye out at my sister’s 9 month old whippet puppy named Sandwich.

Sincerely yours,

Miroslawa Jaremus and family

Tuna

February 05, 2017

We adopted Tuna (formerly Tinsel) almost 2 years ago and to say that she has brought joy to our lives would be an understatement! From the moment we brought her home, she hopped out of her carrier, began to explore our condo and made herself at home. She loves to sit on our laps, play fetch with her toy mouse and perch on her cat tree by the window to enjoy the afternoon sun. Thank you, THS, for giving us the opportunity to bring this sweet and friendly kitty into our home!

Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake

February 04, 2017

It’s has been 1 year since I got Strawberry Shortcake from the Humane Society, She was weak and could not fly.

Strawberry has been a great addition to our family, she has worked hard to get stronger and has put on about 6 grams. She loves her food and treats. We are still working on her flight, shes very quick now and her jumps or flights are about 5 to 6 feet. She knows a few words, her name, I love you, Pretty bird and pretty girl, cute, along with other words that I can’t make out yet! She has been a great addition to our family and everyone loves her. She’s a happy bird and I’m a happy Momma. We are very happy we got her.

THANK YOU TO HUMANE SOCIETY AND ALL WHO DO GREAT WORK WITH ANIMALS.
