Tabitha

Tabitha

March 23, 2016

Hello THS,

In February my Daughter and I decided it was time to add a furbaby into our household, we walked through the many rooms and cages of cats and narrowed them down to 2 (although there were not many available), we sat with Loretta (I think that was her name), we were advised that the one cat my daughter picked was not right for us, neither was the one that I had picked. We asked if they thought there was a cat that was suitable for us, enter Tabitha (formerly Malificent).

It was love at first sight! She came out of her cage and was full of purrs and head bumps. We brought her home, and she has been fitting into the family quite nicely! She’s has taken a while to completely come out of her shell but now she’s totally relaxed and always up for some belly rubs.

I just wanted to take some time and say Thank you to everyone at THS! - April & Sadie

Chloe & Pepsi

Chloe & Pepsi

March 20, 2016

Chloe came to live with me on December 28 and has changed tremendously. She is not so scared and furry anymore. I’ve had a friend shave her really mat ridden fur down and I’ll be brushing it constantly in order to keep her hair from matting. Then during the first week of March Pepsi came to join us in our new home.

The first few weeks Chloe and Pepsi didn’t like each other. Well Pepsi is always so chill and relaxed but Chloe who was dealing with major mats was very temperamental with him. She would his and meow at him and swat him with her paws but never has she used claws with him. Now they will lay side by side at my side as long as there is a bit of space between them. Since being shaved of her matted fur, Chloe is a totally different cat who loves to play and be rambunctious now. I love both of my cats very much and wouldn’t trade either of them for any other animal. My little family is now complete until my adoption comes to pass of children. Then I’ll have two cats and some children.

I’ll send more as time goes on since Pepsi is still new to the home. Chloe and Pepsi are spoiled by me and their grandma my mom. She calls them her grand kitties lol

Naya

Naya

Naya is the best, even she went through her tribulations and I love her to death.

Every day I take Naya for a 1 hour bike ride in the morning (off leash) and I am now living near high park (25 minute walk) so we walk there and I let her play for about an hour with the other dogs. she has made an uncountable amount of friends at the park and sometimes i catch the males getting glances at her. Naya is such a role model at the park people usually ask me where she was trained and what kind of methods I use for obedience.

I’m very happy that I got Naya and I would do the whole thing over again if I could.

p.s Naya likes to cuddle at night

Indy

Indy

March 14, 2016

My boyfriend and I adopted Indy (formerly Snoopy) almost a month ago and we have been enjoying our time with him immensely. He loves to snuggle with us at night and keeps our feet nice and warm when he hides under the blankets. He loves to chase tennis balls, even if that means we have to grab it for him every time it goes under the couch.

His cat sisters were very unsure of him at first, but they’re now coming around to this new creature. As Indy is 6 years old, he came pretty well-trained. He sits, stays, and gives a paw any time he wants a bacon treat. He loves to go for walks and we’re hoping to better socialize with dogs so he can be a bit friendlier with them. We came into this experience knowing that we wanted to get an older rescue dog and we recommend it to everyone. Indy has so much life and energy in him. It’s a real shame he ended up at the Toronto Humane Society in the first place, but now our lives are so much better for it.

Cash

Cash

We adopted Cash in October 2014 and we were shocked at how quickly he settled into his new home. Within a day it was like we had had him since he was a puppy. Cash is a gentle giant who loves belly rubs and snuggling on the couch but he also loves swimming, chasing squirrels, and car rides. His favourite season is winter and he can’t get enough of the snow! We are so happy that he is apart of our life, we can’t imagine it without him.

Thanks THS for helping to make our family complete!

Kit Kat

Kit Kat

March 05, 2016

Hello

Love at first sight,I adopted “Jewel” now Kit Kat about 6 months ago at the cat adoption at pets mart. She had a little ear drops at first which she hated, but all good and clean bill of health from the vet. She has gained weight, got even more fluffy and is one of the most loving animals on this planet! She loves to sleep at night with us and always by our sides. Very much a diva with her toys and with brushing! Couldn’t have imagined a better companion in my life! And hopefully a full long life a head of us both!

Thank you to the kind people at Toronto humane society for your support and bringing joy and happiness to my and Kit Kat’s lives.

Kodiak

Kodiak

March 05, 2016

Hi there,

I adopted Kodiak (formerly known as Beetee) on February 10th, 2016. He quickly became king of the castle and has blossomed into a very loving, talkative, relaxed cat. He has claimed his two favourite spots as my couch and my bed, and sleeps on his side of the bed every night. He very politely asks for belly rubs and cuddles in the morning and loves being brushed and fussed over. He is very calm with visitors and has grown to love my group of friends. He is very talkative and will “peep” as soon as someone pets him or wants attention.

Kodiak is FIV positive but has recently been to the vet who gave him a clean bill of health and fell in love with him (he seems to have that affect on everyone he meets).

He was introduced to the family dog Jasper, a Chocolate Labrador, about a week ago during a visit to my parents. After slowly introducing them, Kodi became quite relaxed around Jasper. By the end of the weekend they were both sleeping on the same bed and completely comfortable with each other’s company.

Kodi has added so much to my life in the short time since I brought him home. He makes me laugh every day and he amazes me with his relaxed personality. One of the staff at the Toronto Humane Society told me I was adopting an awesome cat on the day I brought Kodi home, he was absolutely right.

Thank you for introducing us!

Mocha

Mocha

March 03, 2016

Just wanted to give an update on Mocha, formerly known as Monica. It’s been less than a year since we have adopted her, She has grown to be part of our family, joining us in almost everything we do. When we first got her, she was shy, afraid of men and strangers. With time and consistency on basic training she had more confidence, developing her own independence when she wants alone time with her toys and bully sticks. She was also underweight and very picky on her food, through trial and error of finding the right brand and protein, she now is at a healthy weight and has a bigger appetite than before.

She has such a big personality for a tiny k9, she loves going to Pet Smart, every time we go for a groom she always gets complimented on being a well behaved, cuddly and cute. she’s also been to doggy day camp a couple times, nothing but an A+ report on her behaviour, how social she is with other dogs, and her vibrant energy that makes the pet smart staff fall in love with!

Our family would like to thank the THS staff for all their hard work and dedication for rescuing many animals that have been given a second chance for a forever home.
