Mr. Tails

Mr. Tails

February 17, 2016

When I lost my fur baby several years ago I didn’t think I would ever be able to love another. It was just too hard to lose them. But I couldn’t shake how wonderful these little fur babies are, the companionship, the entertainment, the unconditional love.

And when I went out that day I was supposed to go to the library but instead I ended up on River St and found in the last cage of the last room a sweet talkative grey and white furball who liked to play with my scarf. He was so sweet and they told me he had been sick but was recovering and when I looked in his face I knew I had to have him. I knew he was my boy. And my hubby who was not as enthusiastic as I was about the situation said if that was what I wanted…

Well I did. I brought Mr. Tails home and now my hubby adores him and plays with him and together they are buddies.

He is our sweet boy. And I thank the THS with all my heart for taking care of him until he was better to come home with me and be the light of our hearts.

It was a year ago when Foxy adopted my wife and I. After a few years of considering bringing a fur-friend to our household, we finally went down to the THS to do just that.

Foxy’s was the first cage we visited and she immediately responded by rubbing her head against my fingers through the cage. Even as we continued to visit other cats, our thoughts kept drifting back to Foxy. Then when we asked to spend a few minutes with her later on, she came to us right away again and gave us lots of head butts. That sealed the deal and it was on with the paperwork.

However, it was not until when we got home and Foxy poked her head through the carrier that we realized what an incredible beauty she is—oh those big round green eyes!

In the ensuing 12 months we found Foxy to be sweet, silly, gentle, patient and extremely well mannered. And she is so soft that she’s like a plush doll! She’s not quite a lap cat but she’s plenty affectionate in other ways, such as lying next to or on top of me on weekend mornings. She is also constantly giving up her belly for scratches.

She was very quiet and reserved when she first arrived but over time she has become much more vocal and assertive, and she has claimed the entire house as her kingdom! For the past few months she has been running into the laundry room (which is connected to our garage) to greet us whenever we come home, and then she would follow us everywhere we go.

Having Foxy in our home has brought so much joy and happiness to us that we can’t imagine life without her.

Lesson learned—come out and adopt!!

I just wanted to give you an update on our sweet little boy. Kramer is such quirky and gentle cat. My resident cat hasn’t always been the most welcoming but Kramer has been very tolerant of my grumpy old senior citizen and is just waiting to be best friends.

Kramer is VERY active and loves to play he thinks he is pretty sneaky. He loves his cat trees and I recently discovered he likes to lay in my bathroom sink. Kramer is a bit klutzy and has a tendency to be so relaxed he falls off where he is sleeping.

Kramer loves to be petted and get belly rubs. He will follow me room to room to see what I am doing. He is not overly affectionate but he likes to lay on my feet and sleep at the end of my bed. He has crawled into my lap a few times and had a snooze so we are making progress.

Kramer is an adorable little cat. We love him to pieces and we are so grateful he is part of our family. Thank you again!!

Hello THS!

We just wanted to send along an update on Snickers, who we adopted just over two years ago. Since joining our family, we have been so happy to have Snickers in our home. I can’t even remember what it was like before he came into our lives!

Snickers has the most wonderful personality! He is so sweet and cuddly and spends most of his time out of his cage munching veggies, cuddling on the couch (he loves Netflix) or keeping us company while we work from home.

In the summertime Snickers sits with us outside on the patio or joins us for a picnic in the park where he can munch fresh dandelions with the sunshine on his fur. We always have our meals together and Snickers always gets his lunch and dinner at the same time we do.

Snickers has truly changed our lives for the better. We love him so much and are so grateful he chose us as his forever home smile
