Tips & Tricks for co-existing with Wildlife

Finding an Injured Bird

Finding an injured bird Birds can fly into windows at any time of the year, but do so in greater numbers during the migration season, which is in the spring and fall. Birds may be killed, injured or simply stunned. If you find an injured bird, with a leg or wing obviously out of place, put the bird into a dry, dark ventilated container (such as a cardboard box with holes, punched in for air) for transportation. Please handle the bird as little as possible.

The Toronto Humane Society is a provincially accredited animal rehabilitation center and you can bring the injured bird to our 11 River Street shelter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for rehabilitation. The Queen car stops at River St, just steps from our door, and we have free parking at the rear of the shelter.
