In May, 2006, a gosling came to stay at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. This young Canada goose had been found abandoned and was brought to The Toronto Humane Society for feeding and care. Over a period of a few weeks the gosling quickly grew in size and soon developed into an adult. After providing him with a safe haven and lots of food, so he could grow strong, we eventually released him into the wild among members of his own kind, to begin a new life with a new family. Here are some pictures which show how he developed and thrived in the Wildlife Rehab Centre.
The Society's Wildlife Rehabilitation Department cares for injured and immature animals. The Toronto Humane Society has cared for a variety of wild animals such as owls, hawks, deer, foxes, beavers, and raccoons. We have the expertise and knowledge to help rehabilitate these animals. The Shelter has both indoor and outdoor facilities to keep our wild animals safe.
