Animal type: Dog
Whitney
A137286
Female, 2 months
Hello, we’re all 2 month old Cane Corso Mastiff puppy sisters! Or mom, Jenny, had us in the shelter in December, and now we’re all grown up! We’re looking for foster homes that can help us to socialize and become used to the world outside the shelter in the most important developmental period of our lives, while we’re waiting to be old enough to be spayed. Ideally, we’re looking for a home with a lot of experience training puppies so that we have the right kind of start in life. We’d also like a lot of space to run around in. Although we can go separately, we love each other and would really love to go in pairs! As we’re not old enough to have had all our vaccines, our foster parents will have to be very diligent about where they’re taking us to make sure we stay healthy. Potential foster parents will have to talk to the canine supervisors about puppy training and be willing to work with whoever they are given extensively. In about a month when we’re ready to be spayed, we will be returned to the shelter and be put up for adoption. Please remember that foster parents are never guaranteed that they will be allowed to adopt their fosters, but that they are more than welcome to apply. If you think you would like to help us, and have the experience we need to get the right start, please contact our Foster Program at 416-392-2273 x2354. We look forward to meeting you!

Princess
A079356
Spayed Female, 6 years
Hi, my name is Princess. I am a 6 year old, spayed female. I have been in the shelter since September 2009, but have been in and out of the shelter for my whole life. I am a very lovable dog who would make a great companion for an experienced dog owner. I am looking for a special home, and would be happiest if there were no children or other animals in the house because I don’t always get along with them. I am currently available for foster while I’m waiting to have my dental surgery – it’s only for a few weeks! After that I will be able to go up for adoption so that I can find a forever home. If you would be willing to foster me, please come down to the shelter to speak with the adoption councilor and foster coordinator, or call the foster department at 416-392-2273 x2354.

Animal type: Cat
Sally
A132026
Spayed Female, 10 years
Hello, my name is Sally. I am a 10 year old, spayed female. I came to the shelter in May 2009 when my previous guardians could no longer care for me. The vets at the shelter say that I have intermittent diarrhea. They would like me to go to a special foster home where my stool can be monitored to watch if it my condition clear up, or if anything in particular triggers my loose stool. I am a really sweet and social girl who deserves a second chance. I’m hoping to go up for adoption soon, but the shelter staff want to make sure we know as much about my condition as possible before I start to look for my forever home. If you think you could help me out for a month or so, please ask about me at the cat desk, or call about our Foster Program at 416-392-2273 x2354. A little break from the shelter will be nice!

Tart

Spayed Female, 12 years
Hello, my name is Tart. I am a 12 year old+, spayed female. I came to the shelter in April 2009 after I had been abandoned in a house when the owners moved out. I am a very old girl who needs a lot of love. I am looking for a special temporary foster home or special needs forever home that is experienced with older cats. I may need subcutaneous fluids if I am dehydrated, and my new parent has to be comfortable with that possibility. If you think you can bring some peace and happiness into my life, please ask about me at the cat desk, or call about our Foster and Permanent Placement Programs at 416-392-2273 x2354.

Animal type: Cat
Lester
A137131
Neutered Male, 7 months
Hello, my name is Lester, and this is my brother, Chuck. We are 7 month old, neutered males. We came to the shelter in November 2009 after our siblings and we were abandoned. We are very nervous and not used to being the happy kittens we deserve to be. We are each looking for a separate temporary foster home for one to two months with an experienced person who can help to socialize us and prepare us for adoption in our future forever homes. Our foster homes will have to have a separate room, that each of us can call our own, until we really start to come out of our shells. If you think you have the time, space, and patience for a shy little guy like me or my brother, please come and ask about us at the cat desk, or contact the Permanent Placement Program at 416-392-2273 x2354. We can’t wait to find out how life is supposed to feel.

Animal type: Cat
Pichica
A136966
Spayed Female, 4 years
Hello, my name is Pichica. I am a 4 year old, spayed female. I came to the shelter in November 2009 after I fell from an 8th storey balcony. One of the results of my accident was that I had a dislocated hip which had to be surgically repaired. I am looking for a special foster home that will watch me for 2-4 weeks to see how well I’m using my injured leg. I do require pain medication every day so my foster family will have to be okay with that. I am a very nice girl who would like to put my horrible experience behind me. If you think you could help me to do that, please ask about me at the cat desk or call about our foster program at 416-392-2273 x2354.

Marty

Neutered Male, 5 years
Hello, my name is Marty. I am a 5 year old, neutered male. I came to the shelter as a stray in February 2009 - over a year ago! I am FIV+ and I have asthma. I have been coughing a lot recently and am starting to feel pretty sorry for myself . I am currently looking for a temporary foster home that can monitor my respiratory issues and give me medication twice a day - it should only be for a couple weeks! If you think you could help me out until I'm feeling a bit better, please ask about me at the cat desk or call our foster program at 416-392-2273 x2354.
