Country Life

Some animals just don't like city living.

Whether parrots 'pining for the fjords' or dogs that just don't like rush hour traffic, many of our animals are just not well suited to city life.

These animals need to be in a rural or suburban setting where they can have the space and freedom that they're used to. Some of them have never been exposed to dangers like city traffic and some are just used to a lot more space than the city has to offer.

If you've got room, these animals really need a hand.

Below are some of our 'metro-phobic' animals:

Hi, I’m Sage a young Am Staff Cross who came to the shelter as a stray. I may be okay with some friendly female dogs but definitely require a home without children as I do have some dominance issues and like to try for the upper hand. I’m normally a pretty laid back guy who doesn’t require as much exercise as some dogs. I’m the kind of dog who likes to chase after a ball but not necessarily retrieve it. I do require a home in a rural area as I am very territorial and do not do well with strangers, however, on the bright side, I would make a good watch dog. I require a very experienced owner. Serious enquiries only.

For more information call 416.392.2273 ext. 2150, or contact Canine Services.
